Decernarea premiilor Oscar 2021 a avut loc duminică, 25 aprilie, iar filmul câștigător a fost o surpriză pentru mulți.

Cea de-a 93-a ediție de decernare a Premiilor Oscar a fost câștigată de filmul “Nomadland”. Această ceremonie de decernare a fost făcută să arate ca un film, fiind produsă de Jesse Collins, Stacey Sher şi Steven Soderbergh.

Pentru prima dată în istorie, un film românesc se află pe lista nominalizărilor. Lungmetrajul „Colectiv” a primit două selecții.

Filmul „Mank” al lui David Fincher s-a bucurat de cele mai multe nominalizări, apărând în 10 categorii. Lista câștigătorilor este condusă de producția “Nomadland”, câștigând trei premii, din cele șase categorii la care fusese nominalizat.

Sharon Choi și Bong Joon Ho s-au reunit pe scenă pentru a anunța că premiul cel mai bun regizor în acest an merge la Chloé Zhao. Astfel, ea a ajuns prima femeie de culoare și a a doua femeie care a câștigat la această categorie, în istoria Premiilor Oscar.
